Animal Licensing
- Animal Licensing
All cats and dogs, six months of age and older, must be licensed with the City. The licensing process ensures that animals have current rabies vaccinations which must be current in order to obtain an animal license. Each household is permitted to have a maximum of four pets with no more than three of one species (dog or cat). Licenses must be renewed every one, two or three years depending on the license purchased. Rabies vaccinations must be valid for the duration of the license being purchased. If an animal cannot tolerate the rabies vaccination, a letter stating the intolerance must be provided by the vet.

*Lights are on times and sensors. They require push button activation. The light buttons will not work if the sensor indicates adequate day light and/or if the button is pushed outside the scheduled time frame.
Reservations:
For courts allowing reservations, these will be accepted from the public on a seasonal basis after scheduling of city programming and partner-school reservations are complete. Typically reservations will be open to the public for Spring (March-May) by mid-February; for Summer (June-mid-August) by mid-March; and for Fall (September-November) by mid-August.
Reservations are not available online and must be made through the City Clerk's Department at 7700 Mission Rd; recreation@pvkansas.com; 913-381-6464, option 5. Reservations will not be made or held without submission of the correct application plus full payment and are subject to availability and approval. We cannot offer refunds. Office hours are M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Individual Use Reservations: The application is available here. The cost is $10 per court per hour for personal use and $20 per hour for Organizational/Commercial use.
Tournament Reservations: As of June 2024 new policies and fees are in place for tournaments. Tournament fees and process will remain the same for partner schools. All others will pay $60/court/day. No more than 2 tournaments per month will be scheduled at any one facility on a first come first served basis after the partner schools have scheduled their tournaments (typically May and October). No entity may book consecutive weekends for tournaments. A maximum of 3 days per tournament, excluding rain make ups will be enforced. The new tournament application is available here.

Maintenance Issues/Questions:

Summer Tennis Programming
Johnson County Park and Recreation District (JCPRD) occasionally provides group tennis lessons at Harmon Park in Prairie Village.
Whether your child is a beginning or intermediate player, this program will improve their game and help them get more enjoyment from tennis. Our tennis programs focus on skill refinement as well as practice and match play to develop consistent, well-rounded tennis players.

Prairie Village is a member of the Kansas City Junior Tennis League (KCJTL). In this program, youth ages 8 to 18 develop, improve, and refine tennis skills. The League consists of weekly clinics, challenge days, weekly team matches, and an end-of-year tournament. Registration opens at 8 a.m. on April 1 or in person at City Hall.
Fees
$120 per participant ($115 for each additional family member on the team)
No refunds will be allowed for the Kansas City Junior Tennis League team. Participants must apply and also complete a waiver form at KCJTL.org.
2024 Schedule
League play runs June 3 to July 11. The end-of-year tournament will be held during the week of July 15.
