The City of Prairie Village participates in a variety of regional transportation initiatives. The Mid-America Regional Council (MARC) coordinates most of the initiatives as the designated metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the Kansas City metropolitan area. As the MPO, MARC receives federal funds to develop regional transportation plans and programs and to coordinate technical and policy studies on a wide range of transportation issues.
