The City of Prairie Village contracts with Republic Services to provide weekly curbside collection yard waste for most residential properties in the City. In some areas, homes associations provide this service (Corinth Downs, Countryside East, Paddock Court, Corinth Place Villas, Village Park, and Town & Country). If you live in one of these neighborhoods, you should contact your homes association to see if any changes have been made to your service.

Collection requirements

Yard Waste should be placed in a biodegradable paper bag or a 33 gallon or less rigid container. If using a rigid container, please drill drainage holes in the bottom and use a lid whenever possible. Do not put sticks and branches in the rigid containers. Standard bundles of four feet in length, less than 24 inches in circumference, and less than 50 pounds are also allowed. Bundles must be tied together with twine. Individual branches within the bundle cannot be more than 3 inches in diameter. Logs are not accepted.

Residents are allowed 12 yard waste items per week, year round.

Any excess yard waste can be set out in approved containers, bags, or bundles but will require an overflow waste sticker at a cost of $2.00 per item.  Overflow waste stickers are sold in sheets of 5 or 10 and are available at these locations:
