Animal Licensing
- Animal Licensing
All cats and dogs, six months of age and older, must be licensed with the City. The licensing process ensures that animals have current rabies vaccinations which must be current in order to obtain an animal license. Each household is permitted to have a maximum of four pets with no more than three of one species (dog or cat). Licenses must be renewed every one, two or three years depending on the license purchased. Rabies vaccinations must be valid for the duration of the license being purchased. If an animal cannot tolerate the rabies vaccination, a letter stating the intolerance must be provided by the vet.

Countryside East Trash & Recycling
Countryside East contracts with GFL for all household trash, yard waste, and recycling services. This service is paid by homeowners on their Countryside East annual dues statements.
Trash, recycling, and yard waste are collected on Tuesdays. GFL's holidays are New Year's Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. On weeks when those holidays fall on a Tuesday, Countryside East's pickup will be Wednesday. Residents are given a 65-gallon trash cart by default. In addition to the 65 gallon cart, residents may dispose up to the equivalent of 33 gallons in bagged trash or trash cans out per week at no additional charge. Additional bags require stickers ($1.25 each) purchased at the Corinth Hen House. 35 gallon or 96 gallon trash carts are also available by contacting GFL.
GFL has provided each resident with a recycling container. Options include 35 gallon and 65 gallon carts. All acceptable recycling materials may be commingled.
Yard waste must be disposed of in recyclable paper compost bags.
GFL is willing to pickup bulky items at a cost of $50.00 item, usually during the first trash day of the month. You must call or email GFL ahead of time so they can be prepared to pickup your bulky item. Unfortunately, they are not able to collect any type of electronic waste.
If you can wait until spring, the City of Prairie Village coordinates a city-wide large item pickup which has no additional cost per item.
