Prairie Village is located completely within the Shawnee Mission School District which has
maintained a national reputation for excellence in public education for over 30 years. Within the
City, the District maintains four grade schools (grades K – 6), two middle schools (grades 7 – 8)
and one high school (grades 9 – 12). Four private schools are also located within the City.  In addition, there are a variety of higher education institutions in the Kansas City Metro Region.
