Investigations conducts criminal investigations into all Part I (felony) and Part II (misdemeanor) crimes within the Cities of Prairie Village and Mission Hills, Kansas. Personnel in this program also conduct juvenile investigations through School Resource Officers (SROs) at Shawnee Mission East High School and Indian Hills Middle School.
The Division is comprised of a Captain, a Detective Sergeant, three traditional Detectives, two School Resource Officers, a D.A.R.E. Officer, as well as a Corporal and Detective assigned to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU).
The Patrol Division is responsible for initial response to calls for service and provides services through the district patrol concept. The basic emphasis of officers assigned to this Division is the protection of life and property, the detection and arrest of criminal violators of the law, recovery of stolen property and maintenance of a 'police presence' throughout the Cities of Prairie Village and Mission Hills, Kansas.
The Patrol Division is comprised of one Major, five Sergeants, three Corporals, 19 uniformed Patrol Officers and two Animal Control Officers. The Division is a team of dedicated men and women who are committed to making our community a safe place for all to enjoy.
The Staff Services Division is responsible for the 911 emergency communication system and other calls for service within the Cities of Prairie Village and Mission Hills, Kansas. Additional responsibilities include the collection, dissemination and security of all police records, as well as monitoring building and court areas where security cameras are available.
The Division is comprised of the Records Unit, Communications Unit (Dispatch), Professional Standards, Crime Analyst and Property.
