Qualifications

• U.S. citizen
• Minimum 21 years of age
• High school diploma or higher
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must live within a 35-mile radius of the City limits
  • There is no Kansas residency requirement
• No felony convictions or its equivalent under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)
• No convictions for driving while under the influence in the past five years
• No recent illegal drug use
• Visible tattoos allowed while in uniform

• Police Officer salary range:
  $62,000 to $90,000 annually
• Retirement (no minimum age):
  50% of salary at 20 years of service
  62.5% of salary at 25 years of service
  75% of salary at 30 years of service
• $5,000 hiring bonus
