Education is the Best Prevention: A Town Hall Meeting

The Prairie Village Police Department, in collaboration with First Call KC, will host a panel of experts to share information about teenage alcohol/drug abuse and detection as well as information for parents on teen suicide prevention. The panel of experts will be from the clinical side as well as police officers working in the schools. There will also be testimonials from long term recovering people who suffered from alcohol, drugs and or depression suicidal events.

This event is intended for anyone who wants to educate themselves on the symptoms of substance abuse as well as techniques on how to talk to a child about these issues and others faced by them every day. The Police Department and First Call believe that this forum could make a positive crucial difference in the life of a child or parent.

The event will be held at 6:30 p.m. on March 7, 2018 at the Prairie Village Municipal Building located at 7700 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208. Additional information about the program can be found on First Call website at  www.firstcallkc.org, or by contacting Captain Byron Roberson at broberson@pvkansas.com.
