Signs, such as the two pictured above, are commonly used to warn drivers that the roadway is closed. “Road Closed to Thru Traffic” and “Road Closed Local Traffic Only” signs indicate drivers may only use this portion of the street to arrive at a destination within the work zone (a residence or business, for example). If there is any doubt as to whether or not your destination is within the work zone, please explore an alternate route, such as following the detour signs, which are commonly provided.
