All cats and dogs, six months of age and older, must be licensed with the City. The licensing process ensures that animals have current rabies vaccinations which must be current in order to obtain an animal license. Each household is permitted to have a maximum of four pets with no more than three of one species (dog or cat). Licenses must be renewed every one, two or three years depending on the license purchased. Rabies vaccinations must be valid for the duration of the license being purchased. If an animal cannot tolerate the rabies vaccination, a letter stating the intolerance must be provided by the vet.
It is unlawful in the City of Prairie Village to discriminate against individuals in employment, housing, and public accommodations based on sexual orientation or gender identity. In lieu of its regular monthly meeting, the Johnson County Rose Society will host a special event on Sunday, April 6, at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, 4525 Oak Street, Kansas City, MO. A docent-led tour of the Nelson’s collection of “Art in Bloom” will begin at 2:30 pm. The tour is free and open to the public but space is limited, so pre-registration by Friday, March 28, is required. To register for the tour, go to the Johnson County Rose Society website at www.rosesocietyjoco.org. Those wishing to have brunch at the Museum’s Roselle Court Restaurant may do so on their own before the tour. The restaurant opens at noon.
