Johnson County Rose Society Meeting

Just what are “Old Garden Roses?” On Thursday, September 13, the Johnson County Rose Society will present a program about Old Garden and Retro-Look Roses. John McBrien, JCRS member and ARS Rose Judge, will explain what these roses are and where they came from. He will give us some ideas about how to use them in our gardens and why they are so special. He will also tell us about more modern “look-a-likes” that have been developed to bring the charm of the old garden rose with some of the more desirable characteristics of more modern varieties.

Members and guests are welcome to take advantage of the “Consulting Rosarians Corner” during the meeting for a free individual consultation with a Consulting Rosarian about specific questions or concerns regarding all aspects of rose growing and care.

All JCRS meetings are free and open to the general public. Refreshments will be provided.
