The City of Prairie Village offers Youth and Adult Tennis Lessons during the summer months and participates in the Kansas City Junior Tennis League. In addition, the City rents tennis courts for tournaments.

Youth Group Lessons (Up to age 15)
Pee Wee Clinic (Ages 4 to 6) - Meets Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. for 30 minutes. Participants must be able to hold and swing a racquet. Cost is $47 per participant. There is a minimum enrollment of 4 and a maximum enrollment of 6. This clinic follows the USTA Quick Start Program by using foam/low compression balls (provided).
Mighty Mites Clinic (Ages 7 to 10) - Meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m. - 9:50 a.m. for 50 minutes. Cost is $60 per participant. There is a minimum enrollment of 4 and maximum enrollment of 10.
Future Stars Clinic (Ages 11 to 15) - Meets Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 10:00 a.m. - 10:50 a.m. for 50 minutes. Cost is $60 per participant. There is a minimum enrollment of 4 and a maximum enrollment of 10.

Private and Semi Private Lessons
Private lessons allow instructors the opportunity to work with players on individual needs.
The fee is $25 / 30 minute lesson.
Semi-Private lessons for two persons are structured to meet individual needs.
The fee is $16 / 30 minute lesson.
Three and a Pro is a program for youth. You bring 2 friends and play with the pro. The cost is $18 / per player for 60 minutes.
Doubles/High School Tennis Camp Meets M, T, Th at 11:00 a.m. for 50 minutes during Session Four
Kansas City Junior Tennis League (KCJTL)
Prairie Village is a member of the Kansas City Junior Tennis League (KCJTL). In this program, youth ages 8 to 18 develop, improve, and refine tennis skills. Registration begins April 1 and interested players must register by May 15 to be eligible for the first week of league play. League play begins June 56 and ends July 14. The end of the year tournament is July 17 - 21. The Coach will hold a KCJTL Kick-Off Open House, which includes an initial clinic and challenge match to help determine the first week's ladder, on Wednesday, April 5 from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The League consists of weekly clinics, Challenge Days, weekly team matches, and an end-of-year tournament. The cost is $105 per participant ($100 for each additional family member on team).
No refunds will be allowed for the Kansas City Junior Tennis League team. Download the application. Participants must also complete an application/waiver form at KCJTL.org. Download the KCJTL Schedule.
Tennis Courts are first come, first served for the public when not reserved for tournaments or City-sponsored lessons. Tennis Courts are available to be rented for tournaments. If you would like to hold a tournament for your friends, family, church, organization or business, contact the City Clerk's Office at 913-381-6464, stop by the Prairie Village Municipal Offices at 7700 Mission Rd or download the application. The cost for tournament reservations is $7 per court per hour. Tennis Courts are available at Harmon, McCrum, Taliaferrro & Windsor Parks.
