August Art Exhibit at the RG Endres Gallery

Post Date:08/01/2016 4:25 PM
Mary Ann Coonrod and Cookie Cave will be the featured artists at the RG Endres Gallery located at the Prairie Village City Hall, 7700 Mission Road, Prairie Village.  The exhibit shall run throughout the month of August.

Mary Ann Coonrod's works are characterized as being “organic abstractions.” Her creative abstractions are not planned or conceived in advance but flow from inspirations that reflect her spontaneous feelings of something or someone.  The resulting works are dramatic expressions in vibrant colors and imagery.

Ms. Coonrod, who now resides in Overland Park, earned a BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute.  In addition to her studio work, she teaches abstract drawing and watercolor in the continuing education department at Johnson County Community College.

Cookie Cave, of Mission Kansas, is also the featured artist for August.  Ms. Cave's works  embody the mystique of  femininity with her unique drawings of the feminine form.  Her works have been shown locally and at galleries in Boston and New York.

Ms. Cave has maintained a studio practice locally for over thirty years.  She is an arts educator with the Kansas City Kansas School District.
